Community Service

The staff at Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital are committed to the River Region and actively pursues community service opportunities.

This commitment has not gone unnoticed, as Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital has been recognized with countless Montgomery Advertiser Readers Choice Awards for the Best Veterinary Practice in the River Region.

Some of our favorite community service projects have included our Kindergarten Tours, our Annual Creepy Critters Pet Halloween Costume Contest with proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of Elmore County, the Thanksgiving Food Drive, the Tree of Giving, Pennies for Puppies, and raising money for local animal shelters.

In addition, we provide shadowing internships for local junior high, high school and college students. We sponsor Dixie Youth Sports, local high school’s sports teams, and Faith Radio’s annual golf tournament.

We proudly provide care for the Alabama Boston Terrier Rescue Mission, the Alabama Siberian Husky Rescue Mission, the Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue Mission, For the Paws Rescue, New Hope Resure, Lu's Labs Rescue, and Little Star Chihuahua Rescue. Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital also works directly with the Montgomery Humane Society to assist with pet adoptions and medical care.

Our doctors and staff also volunteer their time off the clock to numerous local churches and charities in the River Region.

Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital supports our Montgomery military community by offering a 10% discount on veterinary services for active duty military members.

Wags 4 Wishes

In 2015, Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital introduced a signature fundraising event, called Wags 4 Wishes. This event highlights many different kinds of animals and the relationships we have with them. Children have the opportunity to go behind the scenes in a working veterinary clinic and play doctor, performing surgery on a teddy bear, gazing into a microscope, and investigating x-rays and ultrasounds.

Additional highlights of the event have included:

  • Dog agility and barn hunting demos
  • Horseback riding
  • Milking dairy goats
  • Montgomery police dogs demos
  • Getting up close and personal with reptiles, hawks, raccoons
  • and much, much more!!!

The annual event takes place on the campus of Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital. Admission is free but donations are appreciated. There are raffles, t-shirt sales and sale of hotdogs/hamburgers to help raise money for the medical needs of the dogs and cats at the Bullock County Animal Shelter. And prizes are awarded for the best dressed pet!

City ordinance required that by 5/4/23, every dog or cat will need a microchip. Visit the article here. Ask us about microchipping!
