Gina Newsome
Gina Newsome has been training dogs for over 20 years. She began with her first Sheep dog in 1995. It was his love for learning and the fun they had together that introduced her to the world of dog training. She began teaching obedience and agility in 1998 and is currently an instructor at the Montgomery Alabama Dog Obedience Club (MADOC).
Gina keeps abreast of new training techniques through seminars, webinars, private lessons and a network of dog training friends. She owns three shelties which have acquired numerous titles in obedience, rally and agility. Two are certified with Therapy Dog International and make frequent visits to nursing homes.
Gina’s philosophy on dog training is simple, it should be fun for both dog and handler.
Training = Play. Play = Training.
Training your dog should not be dull and boring work. You and your dog should enjoy it! Gina trains using positive reinforcement and relationship building exercises.
“I love teaching and helping people attain the goals they have for their dog whether it’s to have a mannered pet, therapy dog or compete in performance sports.”
